Drywall Finishing Council, Inc.

Welcome

Drywall Finishing Council is a Not For Profit, Mutual Benefit Organization that seeks to represent the issues that are commonly faced by manufacturers of materials used in the finishing of drywall.

The Drywall Finishing Council was founded in 1992 as a small group of similarly committed and focussed manufactures of drywall finishing materials, who were concerned with the lack of industry standards both in specifications and application procedures. The Drywall Finishing Council has continued meeting annually ever since. In 1996, the Council recognized that many of the projects and issues that they faced required more than annual attention and decided to meet twice a year - at the annual AWCI Convention which took place in the Spring, and then again in September, typically in Las Vegas. Members of the council represent not only their own companies, but also the entire industry.

The Council follows Parliamentary rules and guidelines, requiring that a quorum be present in order to vote on and accept the previous meeting’s minutes. Meetings normally begin with reading of the previous meeting’s minutes with a vote to accept or deny. This is followed by a treasurer’s report and a call for comments and accptance. Old business is then discussed, followed by any new business.
